Why Emily for School Board?
Active involved parent
I am running for Milford School Board because I think it’s important the board represents current parents, only one of the current five members has kids in school at this time.
We purchased our home in Milford in 2007, we have 4 kids who all started at Milford schools in the Preschool program at age 3 and are heading into 1st, 3rd, 3rd & 8th grades this fall (yes, that includes a set of twins). My kids have been on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), are typically developing students and in the gifted program – I know what it’s like to seek out services and programs to challenge all levels of student achievement. I'm active in my community, especially as it relates to individuals with disabilities, I currently serve on the Clermont County Board of Developmental Disabilities and the Government Affairs Committee with the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati. In addition to this I work full time in IT at Children's Hospital. I think being an active member of the community means sharing your time and gifts with organizations you believe in, and I believe in the schools and that they are the heart of our community.
One of my favorite things to do as a family is sew coordinated Halloween costumes, as seen in the slideshow. I’m Emily Chesnut and I ask for your vote on November 5 for Milford School Board.
